Recreate The Look :: Positive Life
Sometimes you find a design piece that a talented artist has created that just speaks to you.
I thought, why not show some design pieces that I really like and try to recreate the look by examining the colour scheme and typography they have used.

Recreate The Look
Let’s break down the main elements of this design:
- The font
- The colour scheme
- The striped background
My Musings
I like the colour scheme they have used here – teal, charcoal and white. I may be slightly addicted to teal!
The use of colour is very important in successful design, as colours can convey a feeling to the onlooker. Imagine if they had used red instead of the teal? How would it make you feel?
I like the simplicity of the design, nothing too complicated that interferes with the main goal of delivering their message about positive living.
Although stripes can have a strong effect, they have toned it down by using alternate white stripes and a lighter tint of the teal. The use of white space around each word improves it’s readability.
I particular like the inspirational message “You can’t live a positive life with a negative mind”
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this design piece or even what you think about their message!

Anna (My Design Ethos)
I think sometimes I should have been a graphic designer at heart – I have a secret obsession with fonts and graphic elements that is probably unhealthy for an interior designer! Love your blog, and particularly love this colour scheme! xx
PS, just thought you might want to know that your ‘connect with acumen creative’ makes it a little bit difficult to write comments. But that’s probably just me not using something properly!

I think inside every graphic designer is a budding interior designer and vice versa. People with a passion for design, will look at everything regardless of the medium. Good design is art.
I appreciate your feedback on the social media sidebar and will make some modifications
Thanks for your feedback Anna, it’s much appreciated!

Hey Fiona,
What great advice!! You really pointed out why a good design “just works”. There’s more to it than what first appears.
